Manus for Slack: Turn Your Workspace into an Autonomous Engine

Your team's most valuable insights, decisions, and workflows live in Slack. But when it comes to executing the actual work—drafting a PRD, summarizing a meeting, or compiling weekly updates—you are often forced to leave the conversation, switch contexts, and do the heavy lifting yourself.
Today, we are introducing a complete suite of ways to use Manus with Slack. Manus is an autonomous AI work partner: you give it a task, it executes it, and it delivers a finished result. By bringing Manus into Slack, you can delegate work exactly where the conversation happens.
We have designed three distinct ways to integrate Manus into your Slack workflow, depending on how you and your team prefer to work.
At a Glance: How Manus Works in Slack

(Note: While you can easily forward finished deliverables from your Manus DM to other channels, you cannot currently forward existing Slack messages into the Manus DM.)
1. Manus Agent — Chat with Manus like a colleague
What is it?By installing the Manus app on Slack, you get a dedicated Direct Message (DM) tab with the Manus Agent — just like DMing a colleague. Tell it what you need and it runs the task for you. If you already use Manus Agents on Telegram or LINE, it works exactly the same way.
What makes the Agent different from a standard AI chat is persistent memory: it remembers your past conversations and builds on them over time, so it gets better the more you use it. Your instructions, preferences, and feedback carry forward — no need to re-explain context every time.
What can it do for you?
•The Daily Briefing: Open your DM to find a structured rundown of key decisions made overnight and action items assigned to you. (Note: Reading other channels requires the Slack Connector to be enabled).
•Prompt: "Review #sales-updates and #product-announcements every morning at 9 AM and DM me a summary of what I missed."
•Private Drafting & Brainstorming: DM Manus with rough thoughts for a sensitive client update and ask it to draft a polished version. Iterate back and forth in private until it is perfect before forwarding it to the relevant channel.
•Prompt: "Draft a professional update to the Acme Corp client based on these three rough bullet points..."
•On-the-Go Execution: In a taxi between meetings? Open the Slack mobile app, DM Manus a few bullet points, and have a finished one-pager waiting for you by the time you arrive.
•Prompt: "Turn these quick notes into a structured one-pager for my 2 PM meeting."
2. Slack Integration — Tag Manus in your conversations to help with tasks

What is it?With the Slack Integration, you can tag @manus directly in any channel thread to help your team get things done. Manus reads the context of that specific thread — including any files dropped in — executes the task, and posts the result right there for everyone to see and iterate on.
This is best for immediate, team-facing work where the whole group needs to see the input and the output. Unlike the Agent DM, there is no persistent memory here — each thread is a fresh task.
What can it do for you?
•Instant PRDs: A product team debates a new checkout flow in a thread. A PM tags @manus to generate a comprehensive Product Requirements Document (PRD) based entirely on the thread's decisions. The draft is posted instantly for everyone to review.
•Prompt: "@manus Based on this thread, generate a complete PRD for the new checkout flow."
•Evaluating External Assets: A client drops a dense 40-page strategy PDF into a channel. An account manager tags @manus, asking it to analyze the document, extract the core objectives, and suggest three clarifying questions the team should ask on the next call.
•Prompt: "@manus Read this PDF, extract the 3 main objectives, and suggest 3 clarifying questions we should ask them."
3. Slack Connector — Read and send messages on your behalf

What is it?The Slack Connector (using the Model Context Protocol, or MCP) lets Manus read your Slack channels and send messages as you — triggered by your commands in the Manus web app at manus.im, not from within Slack itself.
This is ideal for automated reporting, cross-channel synthesis, and any task where the output needs to carry your name and authority rather than appearing as a bot message.
What can it do for you?
•Automated Weekly Reporting: Set a scheduled task in the Manus web app to summarize a week's worth of work and post it as a consolidated update to a team channel on your behalf. You get the credit; Manus does the work.
•Prompt: "Every Friday at 4 PM, read the #engineering-commits channel, summarize the week's deployed features, and post a consolidated update to #company-announcements on my behalf."
•Cross-Channel Synthesis: Ask Manus in the web app to search across multiple channels for a specific topic, synthesize the findings, and send you a private summary. Manus acts as your research proxy, pulling signal from the noise.
•Prompt: "Search all public channels for mentions of 'Project Apollo' from the last 48 hours, synthesize the blockers, and DM me a summary."

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Do I need a paid Slack plan to use Manus?A: Yes, a paid Slack plan is required to access the AI integration features within the Slack app.
Q: Is my data secure when using Manus in Slack?A: Absolutely. Manus is built with enterprise-grade security. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and we never train our models on your private Slack data.
Q: Can the Manus Agent read my Slack channels automatically?A: Not by default. Two conditions must be met: first, the Slack Connector (MCP) must be connected, as this is what gives Manus the ability to read channel content; and second, you must add Manus to the specific channels you want it to monitor. Manus will only ever access the channels you explicitly invite it into.
Q: Does Manus read all my private messages?A: No. Manus only accesses the specific threads where it is explicitly tagged with @manus, or the channels you explicitly authorize it to read and send messages in via the Connector. You are always in command of what information Manus can access.
Stop letting great ideas get lost in the chat. Connect Manus to your Slack workspace today and start turning your team's conversations into finished results.
