A weekly metrics report from Databricks
Ask Genie the same few questions every Monday and get a one-page report with what changed since last week.
Set up automationsSay “What was net revenue by region last quarter, and which product line held us back?” Manus asks Genie in your Databricks workspace, gets the answer and the tables Genie used, and turns them into a table, a chart and a short summary. It can also run SQL you wrote on a SQL warehouse, find passages in contracts, tickets or docs in an AI Search index, and call functions your team registered in Unity Catalog. What it can see and run follows your Unity Catalog permissions.
Ask a business question in your own words. Genie answers from the data your team set up in Databricks Genie spaces, and Manus lays the answer out as a table, a chart and a short summary you can send.
Paste SQL you wrote, or go from Databricks natural language to SQL: describe what you need, and Manus writes the query. Ask to see it first if you want to check it before it runs. The query runs on a Databricks SQL warehouse you’re allowed to use, and Manus compares the result with what Genie said.
Point Manus at an index your team built on contracts, tickets or docs. AI Search returns the closest passages with their source and a relevance score, and Manus answers from them, with each point numbered by its source.
Your team can register Python or SQL functions in Unity Catalog, such as a customer lookup, as Databricks AI tools. Databricks AI agents and Manus can call them with the values you give, and Manus turns what comes back into an answer.
Your Databricks chat with your data doesn’t have to end in the chat. Send a weekly metrics report, keep the findings in a project, or write them to Notion and Linear.

Set up automationsSave the results and the questions behind them in a project, or turn them into a simple internal web page with a chart and a table.
See how projects workPut the answer, the table and the next steps on a Notion page your team already reads.
Use Notion with ManusWhen a number needs a closer look, turn it into a Linear issue that includes the query and the result.
Use Linear with ManusThe Databricks MCP connector is already in Manus Connectors. Set it up once, and any task can ask Genie, run SQL, search indexes and call functions that your Unity Catalog permissions allow.
In Manus, open Connectors, choose Databricks and select Connect.
Databricks asks for a few extra details before it connects. Your Databricks admin can tell you what to enter, and in some workspaces has to turn on managed MCP servers first.
Mention Databricks and say what you need: a question for Genie, a query, an index or a function. Ask Manus to show you any SQL before it runs.

In some workspaces, an admin also has to turn on managed MCP servers in the Databricks settings first. Once connected, mention Databricks in any task, for example “Ask Genie in Databricks for last month’s revenue by region.”
No. Databricks checks your Unity Catalog permissions on every request. Manus can only query the tables, use the SQL warehouses, search the indexes and call the functions your account is allowed to use, and row filters and column masks your team set up still apply.
Not unless you ask. Asking Genie only reads data. A SQL statement can change data if your permissions allow it, so ask Manus to show you the SQL first, and it waits for your OK before running it. Your Databricks admin decides what your account can change through Unity Catalog permissions.
It can. Asking Genie, running SQL, searching an index and calling a function use compute in your Databricks account, and Databricks bills each at its usual prices. The Manus task itself uses your Manus credits as usual.
Genie answers from the tables, instructions and examples your team set up in Databricks Genie spaces, so a well set up space gives better answers. Ask Manus to list the sources Genie used, or check a key number with your own SQL on a SQL warehouse.
Yes. Ask once and say when to run it, for example every Monday at 9 AM. Manus runs it as an automation, asks Genie the same questions each week and sends you a one-page report with what changed.
Yes. Databricks AI Search was called Vector Search before, so the same indexes work. Manus can search indexes that use Databricks managed embeddings and that you’re allowed to query. Tell it the index name, for example main.legal.contracts_index.
Databricks Assistant and Genie are Databricks’s own features, which you use inside Databricks. Manus connects to your workspace to ask Genie, run SQL and search indexes, then carries the results into a report, a spreadsheet or a web page, together with the work in your other tools.
Much the same. Databricks explains how to connect its MCP servers to Claude, ChatGPT and other AI tools, and Databricks in Manus is an MCP connector too. Connect it once in Manus Connectors, and any task can use it with your other connected apps, such as Notion or Linear.
