YouTube Transcript Generator
Paste a link to a public YouTube video. Manus reads the captions already published with it and gives you the text to copy, with timestamps when the captions include them.
- Existing captions only
- Timestamps when the captions have them
- Copy the text from your task
What you get back from a YouTube link
Each request asks for one clear result, so you can tell real captions apart from a video with no captions, no access, or a failed check.
Have the video file, for example a video you uploaded yourself? Upload the file and Manus turns what is said into text. That text comes from what is said in the video, not from its captions.
Existing captions, not a new transcription
Captions are text already published with a video. This page gets that text as it is and names the caption track it came from.
How to get the transcript of a YouTube video
Paste one link. The result shows up in your task, ready to copy.
What to do after you get the transcript
Add one next step to your request. The request asks for it after the caption step, and only if captions are found.
Limits to know before you paste a link
The result depends on the video’s access settings and on the captions it already has.

Frequently asked questions
What does this YouTube transcript generator do?
It asks Manus for the existing captions of a public YouTube video. You get the caption text, labeled with the caption track it came from, and timestamps when the captions include them. YouTube sometimes limits access, so a request may not get the captions. If the video has no captions, can’t be opened, or the request can’t finish, the result says so instead of making up text.
How do I get the transcript of a YouTube video?
Copy the video link, paste it into the box at the top of this page, and select Request transcript. Sign in or sign up if asked; your link is kept. Manus checks the video and posts the result in your task, where you can copy the text.
Are captions the same as an AI transcription?
No. Captions are text already published with the video, written by the creator or made by YouTube’s automatic captions. An AI transcription is new text made from the audio. This page only gets existing captions, and the result names the caption track it used.
Does the transcript include timestamps?
Timestamps are kept when the captions include them. If the source gives no timing, the text comes back without timestamps.
What if the video has no captions?
The result tells you that no captions were found. This page doesn’t write a transcript for videos without captions. If you have the video file, upload the file and Manus turns what is said into text.
Can I get the transcript of a private or restricted video?
No. Private, removed, age-restricted, region-locked, members-only, and sign-in-only videos are reported as not accessible. Manus doesn’t try to get around these limits.
How accurate is the transcript?
It’s as accurate as the captions it comes from. Automatic captions can contain mistakes, so check important lines against the video before you quote them.
Which languages does it work with?
The text keeps the language of the caption track it was taken from. This page doesn’t translate it.
What else can Manus do after it gets the transcript?
You can add one next step to your request, such as study notes, a slide deck, or a quiz made from the transcript. Choose one of the next steps on this page or write your own. The request asks Manus to do it after the caption step, and only if captions are found.
Can I download the transcript as a file?
This page doesn’t make subtitle or text files. Copy the caption text from the result in your task.
Is the YouTube transcript generator free?
Each request runs as a Manus task and uses credits. See Pricing for details.
