Connect GitHub to Manus to review, fix and ship code

With the GitHub MCP connector, Manus reads your pull requests and issues, writes the review, fixes the code on a branch and opens a pull request for you to merge. It can also start on its own when a pull request opens.

GitHub AI code review for every pull request

Ask Manus to review one pull request, or set it up as a GitHub code review bot that starts on every new one.

AI PR review from a pull request link

Paste the link and Manus works as your AI code reviewer: an AI pull request summary first, then a GitHub pull request review with comments tied to the exact lines. Ask it to wait for your OK, so the AI code review GitHub shows is one you approved.

Automate code review when a pull request opens

Set up a GitHub automation in Manus: when a pull request is opened or marked ready for review, a new task reviews it and posts a review only when there’s a clear problem to fix. It works like a PR review bot you instruct in plain words, and it isn’t a GitHub Actions AI step, so your existing checks keep running.

Sort new issues, then fix the ones that matter

Manus reads each new issue, then takes the one you pick from a branch to a pull request you can review.

GitHub issue triage every weekday morning

A scheduled task reads new issues, suggests a label for each, flags likely duplicates and drafts reproduction steps and replies. It’s AI issue triage that leaves the final call to you.

  1. Read issue #301
  2. New branchfix/sso-login
  3. Keep the return URL after single sign-on
  4. Pull request opened, ready for review

Go from issue to pull request with a GitHub AI agent

Manus is a GitHub AI assistant that makes the change itself. It reads the issue, edits the code on a new branch, writes an AI commit message that says what changed and why, and opens a pull request. Merging stays with you.

A weekly changelog from merged pull requests

Use Manus as a changelog generator: every Friday it collects the pull requests merged into main and writes AI release notes grouped by what’s new, what’s fixed and what changed.

Sync a Manus web app to your GitHub repo

Back up the code, edit it in your own tools and keep both sides in step.

Build the app here, keep the code in GitHub

Export a web app you built in Manus to a new private repository. Manus pushes its changes to main and pulls the latest code before it edits, so you can also work in your own editor.

Skip the GitHub MCP server setup

GitHub is a built-in connector in Manus. Connect it once and any task can use it.

Connect GitHub in Connectors

Open Connectors in Manus, choose GitHub and sign in with your GitHub account.

Choose the repositories

On GitHub, allow the Manus Connector app to use the repositories you want to share. You can change this later from Configure.

Ask for the work

Mention GitHub or pick a repository from the GitHub menu in the chat box, then describe what you need.

A GitHub MCP Claude Desktop setup or a GitHub MCP Cursor setup means adding GitHub’s MCP server in that app’s settings, either the hosted server or a local one you run with Docker and a personal access token. To connect GitHub to ChatGPT, you use the ChatGPT GitHub connector, and the Claude GitHub integration is set up in Claude. In Manus, the connector is built in and the work runs on Manus’s own virtual computer, so an automation can start it when a pull request opens.

Explain a repository before you change it

Start with a question about your code. Manus looks through the repository you pick and answers with file names you can open.

Frequently asked questions

What is the GitHub MCP connector in Manus?

It’s the built-in GitHub connector in Manus, one of the prebuilt MCP connectors available on all plans. Once connected, Manus can read and write code, commit and push changes, and create, view, edit and close issues and pull requests in the repositories you allow.

How do I connect GitHub to Manus?

Open Connectors in Manus, choose GitHub and click Connect. Sign in to GitHub and approve access for the repositories you want to use. After that, mention GitHub in a task or pick a repository from the GitHub menu in the chat box.

Can Manus review pull requests automatically?

Yes. Create a triggered automation with GitHub as the source, choose the pull request event and add conditions such as repository, branch or label. Supported GitHub events start a task as they happen. It runs as a Manus task, not a GitHub Actions workflow, so your existing checks keep running. Use Test run to try it first.

Can Manus push code or open pull requests?

Yes. In repositories you allow, Manus can commit and push changes and create, edit and close pull requests and issues. Ask it to work on a new branch and open a pull request when you want to review a change before it reaches main.

Which repositories can Manus access?

Only the repositories you allow when you install the Manus Connector app on GitHub, and in each task you pick which of them to use. To change access, open the GitHub connector in Manus and choose Configure. If the connection stops working, uninstall Manus Connector at github.com/settings/installations, then connect GitHub again.

Do I need to host my own GitHub MCP server?

No. GitHub is a prebuilt connector in Manus, so there’s nothing to install or run. Connect your account and Manus does the work on its own virtual computer. If you also want another MCP server, you can add a custom one in Connectors.

How is this different from GitHub Copilot code review?

GitHub Copilot code review is a GitHub feature that reviews a pull request when you request it or when automatic reviews are turned on, and suggests changes you can apply in GitHub. Manus connects to GitHub as a general AI agent: besides reviewing, it can triage issues, commit fixes on a branch, open pull requests and write release notes, when you ask or from an automation.

Can Manus summarize a GitHub repo?

Yes. Pick an allowed repository from the GitHub menu in the chat box, or paste a link to a public repository, and ask for a GitHub repo summary: what the project does, how the code is organized and which files to read first. It’s a quick way to summarize GitHub repo structure before you plan a change.

Can I sync a Manus web app to GitHub?

Yes. Export your web project to a new private GitHub repository owned by you or an organization you belong to. Manus then pushes its changes to main and pulls the latest code before it edits. Only the task owner can export, and renaming the repository or changing its owner breaks the connection.
