Neon MCP connector for Manus

Query, branch and manage Neon Postgres databases in plain English with Manus

Connect your Neon account and query a Neon database in plain English. Manus reads your schema, runs the SQL, tests schema changes on a temporary branch and finds slow queries and unused indexes, then sums it all up in tables and reports. Start with a development or test database, and choose read-only access if you only want answers.

How many new paying customers did each plan get per month since June?

Query a Neon database in plain English and get a chart back

Manus works as a PostgreSQL AI agent on your Neon data. It finds the right tables, writes and runs the SQL, and explains the answer with a table and a chart. It feels like talking to an AI Postgres database, except you can check every step.

Turn your Neon Postgres database into a data dictionary

Manus reads every table, column, type and key in your Neon SQL database and writes them up in plain English, so new teammates know where the data lives.

Neon branching: test schema changes before they reach main

Neon database branching gives you an isolated copy of your data. Ask for schema changes on a Neon branch and Manus applies them there first, compares the schema with main and waits for your OK.

Neon slow query analysis and a database health check

Manus looks for slow queries, unused indexes, table bloat and a low cache hit rate, then ranks what to fix by impact and writes a suggestion next to each one.

Manage Neon serverless projects, branches and snapshots

Create a project or a branch for new work, take a snapshot before a big change and restore it if you need to go back. When the numbers are ready, turn them into an app your team can open.

Questions about the Neon MCP connector

Is this the official Neon MCP server?

Yes. Manus uses the official Neon MCP server, the Neon database MCP server built and hosted by Neon. Because it’s a hosted Postgres MCP server, there’s nothing for you to install or configure.

How do I connect Neon to Manus?

Open Connectors in Manus, choose Neon, click Connect and sign in to your Neon account to approve access. Then start a task with the Neon connector on and ask your question in plain English.

Do I need a Neon API key?

No. In Manus you sign in to Neon instead, and you can revoke access at any time from your Manus settings. A Neon API key is only needed in tools that ask you to paste one into their MCP settings.

Can Manus change or delete my data?

Yes, if you give it write access. Unless you turn off writes on the Neon approval screen, Manus can run any SQL, including UPDATE and DELETE, and manage branches and projects without asking each time. For read-only access, turn off writes when you authorize Neon. For anything risky, ask Manus to show the plan first or try the change on a branch.

Can I connect my production Neon database?

Neon recommends using its MCP server for development and testing, not for production databases, and keeping production and personal data out of it. Start with a development branch or a test project, and ask Manus to show each change before it runs it.

Do I need to know SQL?

No. Ask in plain English and Manus writes the SQL, runs it and shows you the query next to the result, so you can check it or pass it to a developer. Think of it as a Neon AI Postgres analyst that always shows its work.

What does the Neon health check look at?

Slow and frequent queries, unused indexes, table and index sizes, table bloat, cache hit rate, locks and long-running queries. Some checks need the pg_stat_statements extension. If it isn’t on, Manus tells you and asks before suggesting how to turn it on.

How does Neon Postgres pricing work with Manus?

Your databases stay on your own Neon account, so usage follows your Neon plan, whether that’s the Neon Postgres free tier or a paid plan. Check Neon’s pricing page for current plans. The Manus task itself uses Manus credits as usual.

Do I need Claude or Cursor to use the Neon MCP server?

No. A “Neon MCP Claude” or “Neon Claude MCP” guide sets Neon up inside Claude, where the “Neon Claude connector” lives in Claude’s own list, and a “Neon MCP Cursor” setup has you add Neon’s server to Cursor yourself. In Manus, Neon is already in Connectors: sign in once, ask in a chat and the task runs in the cloud.
