Use Manus as a Tableau AI assistant for everyday questions
Manus reads the fields in your published data source and runs the query for you, so you get the numbers, a chart and the fields it used without building a view first.
Use Manus as your Tableau AI agent. Connect your Tableau Cloud site and Manus queries the published data sources you can access, answering questions like which region’s sales grew fastest last quarter. It also turns dashboard views into weekly reports and explains why a Pulse metric changed.
Ask the way you’d ask an analyst. Manus finds the data source, queries it and explains the answer.
Manus reads the fields in your published data source and runs the query for you, so you get the numbers, a chart and the fields it used without building a view first.
Say what you’re trying to answer. Manus searches the workbooks, views and data sources on your site and tells you which one to open, who owns it and which data it uses.
Point Manus at a view and get a finished report with the chart, what changed and what to watch.
This is Tableau automated report generation without exporting by hand. Manus takes the data and an image of the view, then writes what changed, with the chart and the numbers to watch, as a report, web page or slides.
See why a metric you follow went up or down, in a few plain sentences.
Manus reads the change from the previous period and the top and bottom contributors that Tableau Pulse calculates, checks the data behind the metric and explains the change in plain words.
Check your numbers against targets from a file, then get the summary in your inbox every week.
Add a file, like this year’s targets or a budget. Manus lines up the numbers from Tableau with your file and shows where you’re ahead or behind.
Set it up once as a scheduled task. Every Monday, Manus checks the metrics you follow, writes a short summary and emails it to you.

Tableau runs this MCP server for Tableau Cloud sites on any plan. It isn’t available for Tableau Server.

Tableau Cloud, on any plan. Tableau says the Tableau MCP server it runs isn’t available for Tableau Server, where teams set up Tableau MCP on their own servers instead. The Tableau connector in Manus signs in to Tableau Cloud.
Only what your own Tableau account can see: the published data sources, workbooks, views and Pulse metrics you already have access to. Tableau runs each request as you, so your existing permissions apply, and a tool your plan or role doesn’t include returns an error. Tableau says its MCP service doesn’t store your Tableau data.
Building new workbooks and dashboards isn’t part of Tableau MCP yet, and Tableau lists it as coming soon. Some Tableau MCP tools do make changes, like running Tableau Prep flows, or deleting content and changing user roles for site admins. Which ones you get depends on your role, your plan and your site settings, and site admins can turn off tool groups they don’t want. When you need a new chart, Manus can make it in the report, web page or slides it writes for you.
The main ones are for asking questions and reading content: listing data sources, reading their fields and querying them; listing workbooks and views and getting a view’s data or image, including custom views; reading Pulse metric definitions, the metrics you follow and their insights; and searching content across your site. Depending on your role, your plan and your site settings, Tableau MCP has more tools, such as admin tools and Tableau Prep flow tools. Tableau’s MCP docs describe each tool.
Yes. Tableau AI tools include Tableau Agent, a generative AI feature that helps you explore data, create visualizations and uncover insights in a conversation, and Tableau Pulse, which gives you insights on the metrics you define. Manus doesn’t replace the Tableau AI turning data into insights inside Tableau. It connects to your site from outside and ties your questions, reports and other tools together. You can use both.
Manus is a general AI agent, not a Tableau product. Once you connect Tableau, it works as your Tableau AI agent: it answers questions from your published data, turns views into reports and explains metric changes, using your own Tableau account.
Yes. Manus reads metric definitions, the metrics you follow and the insights Tableau Pulse calculates for them, like the change from the previous period and the top and bottom contributors. The Tableau Pulse AI summaries called Insight Briefs are a Tableau feature that needs Tableau+.
With Manus, yes. Set up a scheduled task, for example every Monday at 8 AM, and each time Manus pulls the latest numbers from Tableau, writes the report and emails it to you. That covers Tableau automated email reports and Tableau dashboard automation without extra setup in Tableau. You can also have it post the report to Slack or save it to Google Drive once those are connected.
