CoinGecko MCP connector for Manus

Turn CoinGecko market data into a crypto brief you can read in minutes

Connect CoinGecko and ask for today’s market summary, a coin’s last 90 days, several coins side by side, how a category such as AI coins did, or a DEX pool on any network. Manus pulls live and historical data and writes it up with tables and charts. It only reads and explains data: no trades, no buy or sell tips, no price predictions, and nothing it writes is investment advice.

Questions about CoinGecko AI and MCP

How do I connect CoinGecko to Manus?

Open Connectors in Manus, choose CoinGecko and select Connect. There’s no API key field or settings form for CoinGecko in Manus, and no code to write. Then mention CoinGecko in any task, for example “Create a simple overview of my favorite cryptocurrencies including current prices and daily changes using CoinGecko.”

Do I need to write code against the CoinGecko API?

No. You ask in plain words, and Manus calls CoinGecko for you through the connector, then builds the tables, charts and summary. CoinGecko limits how many calls can be made in a given time, so for a very large pull, such as hundreds of coins at once, ask Manus to work through it in smaller batches.

Is the CoinGecko data real time?

Manus pulls prices, market caps and volume from CoinGecko at the moment you ask, so each brief shows the market at that time. How often each number refreshes is up to CoinGecko, and daily history closes at 00:00 UTC.

How far back does CoinGecko price history go?

At least the past year. Even CoinGecko’s free access includes 365 days of daily prices, market caps and volume. How much older data is available is set by CoinGecko. For candlestick charts, Manus can also pull open, high, low and close prices.

Will Manus trade crypto or tell me what to buy?

No. Manus only reads market data from CoinGecko, then makes charts and writes summaries. It doesn’t connect to exchange accounts, place trades, recommend coins to buy or sell, or predict prices. Every brief is for reference only and is not investment advice.

Can I get a daily or weekly crypto brief automatically?

Yes. Ask once in plain words, for example “Every Monday at 8 AM, write last week’s crypto report from CoinGecko.” Manus sets it up as a scheduled task, and each run pulls fresh data and writes a new report. You can also have each one added to a Notion page.

How is this different from a CoinGecko MCP Claude setup?

Adding the CoinGecko MCP server to Claude, Cursor or another MCP client is a separate setup inside those tools. In Manus you don’t need it: CoinGecko is already in Connectors, so connect it there and ask in any task.

What CoinGecko data can Manus use?

Live and historical prices, market caps and trading volume, candlestick (OHLC) data, trending coins and categories, category market data, exchange data, and onchain data for tokens and DEX pools across many networks. The top gainers and losers in a brief are worked out from CoinGecko market data for the largest coins by market cap.

Can I get the data as a spreadsheet, chart or PDF?

Yes. Ask for a table, a chart, a spreadsheet or a one-page PDF, and Manus makes it from the CoinGecko numbers it pulled. You can keep the files in a project to build on later.

Is CoinGecko AI the same as the AI coins category on CoinGecko?

No. On this page, CoinGecko AI means Manus working with CoinGecko data for you. The AI coins category is a group of crypto projects that CoinGecko lists, and Manus can report on it like any other CoinGecko category.
