Manus Now Unlocks Precise Actions Across Google Workspace

Today, we're shipping a major upgrade to our Google Workspace connector. By integrating the Google Workspace CLI — an open-source tool published by the Google Workspace team on GitHub (note: not an officially supported Google product), we've given Manus the ability to go beyond creating and reading files and start making precise, surgical edits inside your Docs, Sheets, and Slides.
Previously, our connector treated your files like black boxes. It was great for high-level tasks like creating a new report or saving a summary, but the fine-grained work of editing endless review cycles, comment-chasing, and cell-level updates remained a manual effort.
That changes now. Because Manus can work with developer-level precision, you can delegate an entire feedback loop in a single command. For example: "In my Google Doc, reply to Mark's comment, accept the typo fix in paragraph three, and then draft a new paragraph and insert it below."
Manus will parse the context, locate the right comment, and execute each step, leaving the rest of the document untouched. This is the difference between a tool and a true work partner. Describe the finished result you want, and Manus handles every step of the execution, no matter how detailed.

What Manus Can Now Do Inside Your Workspace

Instead of just creating and reading files, Manus can now handle the detailed, in-document work that consumes so much of your day.
Granular Document Editing: Manus can now go inside a Google Doc and perform surgical text replacement, insert paragraphs into specific sections, or restructure content on demand. It understands the structure of your document and edits it with precision, not just appending to the end.
Advanced Spreadsheet Manipulation: Manus can read and cross-reference data across multiple sheets and synthesize insights.
Surgical Slide Management: Manus can now edit existing presentations, not just create new ones. Instruct it to find and replace placeholder text throughout a deck, add a new slide in a specific position, update speaker notes, or reorder slides to reflect a change in your agenda.

Prompts to Get You Started

Here are five prompts that demonstrate what is now possible. Each one represents a workflow that would typically require several minutes of manual work across multiple tabs.
Generate a full report from a spreadsheet: "Read the data from my 'Q1 Sales Data' Google Sheet. Summarize total revenue, top 5 deals by amount, and revenue breakdown by rep. Then create a new Google Doc titled 'Q1 Sales Report' with a formatted summary of these findings, and share it with viewer access to anyone with the link."
Perform surgical edits in a document: "Open my 'Product Spec v2' Google Doc. Find every instance of the phrase 'legacy system' and replace it with 'core platform'. Then find the 'Open Questions' section and replace the placeholder text with these three questions: [your questions here]."
Update a presentation automatically: "In my 'Q2 All-Hands' Google Slides presentation, find the slide titled 'Timeline' and replace all instances of '[Insert Date]' with the correct dates. Then add a new slide after the Timeline slide titled 'Key Milestones' with three bullet points."
Roll over a monthly tracking sheet: "In my 'Team KPIs' Google Sheet, duplicate the 'February' tab, rename the copy to 'March', and clear all the values in the 'Actual' and 'Notes' columns while keeping all headers and formulas intact."
Manage feedback and edits in a single command: "In my Google Doc [link], find the comment from 'Mark' about the conclusion. Reply to it saying 'Good point, I'm fine to move this section or we can standardize it for all blog posts.' Then, draft a new paragraph and insert it directly below the current paragraph on that topic."

How to Get Started

The upgraded Google Workspace connector is already active for all users — there is nothing to install or enable.
1.Navigate to the Connectors tab in your Manus settings.
2.Connect the Google Drive connector and authorize it. The entire process takes under a minute.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is this secure? How does Manus access my files?
A: This integration is built on the Google Workspace CLI, an open-source tool published by the Google Workspace team on GitHub. It is worth noting that the CLI is not an officially supported Google product. Authentication is handled via Google's standard OAuth 2.0 protocol, which means Manus only ever has the permissions you explicitly grant during the authorization process. Data is only accessed within an isolated sandbox environment for the duration of your task, and is not retained after the task is completed.
Q: Does this upgrade cost extra?
A: No. This is a free, foundational upgrade to the existing Google Workspace connector and is available to all Manus users on all plans.
Q: What is the difference between this and the previous connector?
A: The previous connector was limited to high-level actions: creating a new file, appending text to it, or reading its contents. The upgraded connector gives Manus deep, granular control inside your files — precise edits, formatting changes, structural manipulations, and complex cross-product workflows that were not possible before.
Q: Will my existing prompts and workflows still work?
A: Yes. All existing workflows that use the Google Workspace connector will continue to function exactly as before. The new capabilities are purely additive.

Closing Note

This update is live now for all Manus users. We believe it represents a meaningful step toward Manus becoming the autonomous work partner that handles not just the big tasks, but the precise, detailed work that makes up so much of your day. We can't wait to see what you build with it.
